My story

Penny Female Spayed DOB Kennel Trained Potty training - work in progress Leash trained Meet Penny – Our Sweet & Spunky Senior Chihuahua Penny is an older Chihuahua lady who knows exactly what she likes: a calm home, a cozy routine, and a person to call her own. She’s happiest living the slow life, spending her days napping and snuggling as close as possible to her favorite human. Once she bonds, she truly bonds—Penny is a devoted little “velcro dog” who loves to sleep touching her person and would happily burrow under blankets at bedtime. Penny would do best as an only pet, though she can coexist with another calm, respectful dog with proper management. She can be protective of her personal space—especially her kennel and her person’s lap—and may bark if another dog gets too close. For this reason, she’s best suited for a home that understands small-dog boundaries and can give her a peaceful environment. She walks beautifully on leash and is excellent in her kennel, sleeping quietly through the night. While she prefers to sleep in bed with her person, she’s perfectly content and well-mannered in a crate. Penny does well in the car, hasn’t shown any destructive behaviors, and takes treats gently. She eats well and has lovely house manners overall. Penny can be successfully house trained with a consistent schedule. She understands the routine and the cue “outside,” but she does not signal when she needs to go, so a predictable potty schedule is important for her success. While Penny isn’t much of a toy player, she enjoys gentle interaction and playful hand wrestling. She’s a low-energy companion who would thrive in a quiet home with someone looking for a loyal, snuggly sidekick. If you’re looking for a devoted little shadow who just wants warmth, comfort, and your love, Penny may be the perfect match. The Adoption Fee (Tax Deductible Donation) is $150.. If you are interested please fill out an application at www.nalarescue.org. Please note a Vet Check and Home Inspection are part of the application process. NALA Rescue is a home-based foster rescue and does not have a facility. If interested in meeting a dog, please apply at www.nalarescue.org. All dog meets are scheduled by appointment in advance only, if approved. All shots, boosters, rabies, spay/neuter, and microchip are included in NALA Rescues Adoption Donation charges. All dogs/puppies are available until they are removed from this site so please no inquires if a dog is available.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Penny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
