My story

Beau is a very sweet pup. We rescued him 9 yrs ago. He loves to lounge on a lap while inside but can also spring into energy when playing at the park with other pups. We’ve never had any issues until we welcomed our daughter into the world 2 yrs ago. He tends to be intimated by her as a toddler, and can get territorial in his bed. We recently had an unfortunate experience where he did swipe at her with his paw, leaving some scratches. In a way it was understandable, because despite his growl to warn her, she continued to bother him / jump on him. I don’t forsee he would have any other behavioral issues and as much as we love him — I can’t continue to take the risk. He has NEVER done this with adults or other children - we were very surprised by it. I hope he can go to a loving and safe home because he does deserve it and is the an amazing dog.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Beau, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
