My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Krissa is a playful, sweet-natured Great Pyrenees who lights up every room she enters. With her bright smile, playful energy, and gentle heart, she’s the kind of pup who makes you fall for her without even trying. She came to rescue with her siblings and has quickly shown just how loving and eager&#226&#128&#145to&#226&#128&#145please she is. She appears to be housebroken, settles quietly in her crate, and loves dragging her blanket around to create the perfect nap nest. On leash, she’s friendly and curious, happily greeting people and dogs, and she’s learning to take treats politely. Playtime is Krissa’s love language. She’ll run, leap, and wrestle with any willing dog and lights up when you toss a rope toy or ball. She needs a 5-foot securely fenced yard where she can safely stretch her legs, play, and do what Pyrs love most—patrol her space with pride. When introduced to cats, she was gentle and respectful, lowering her head to let them rub on her nose. She hasn’t met children yet, but her sweet, social nature suggests she’d be a wonderful companion for respectful kids. Indoors, she’s gone from unsure to enthusiastic explorer, heading straight to the toy box and then settling in close to her people for affection, conversation, and all the love she can soak up. She’s also a dream for grooming—an absolute gift for a fluffy Pyr. Krissa would thrive with a playful dog buddy but would also be perfectly happy as an only dog with regular playdates or doggie daycare. What she wants most is a family who will enjoy her joyful spirit, keep her toy box full, offer plenty of treats, and give her a soft bed and a heart full of love. If you’re looking for a young Pyr lady who brings sunshine, silliness, and endless affection, Krissa is ready to be your girl!   NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Krissa in KY  Age: 10 mos old as of March 2026  Color: White  Dew Claws: Yes, Single  Estimated Adult Weight: 80 lbs  Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Richmond, KY  Medical: Spayed, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. March 7, 2026, 10:15 am
