My story

Kenny Pawgers is a very very special boy. I’ve had him since he was only about a week old and watched him grow up into a sweet and quirky “man”. As a kitten I noticed he would eat differently than the rest of his litter and would pull his head up dramatically after bites. Then I noticed he was unable to meow! These were early signs that would lead us down a long road of testing to see if he was ill or just a unique kitten. Well , he’s kind of both. He’s not “sick” per say, but rather genetically challenged in his nasal region. The easiest way of explaining it is that his nasal passage is much more narrow than it should be which causes some breathing issues. He struggles a bit to take normal breaths which causes him to have noisy breathing and almost sounds like he’s snoring a lot. It’s very adorable once you’re used to it and know he’s still getting air, it’s just in a different way. He plays well, eats great and does everything normal except his noisy breathing. Doctors say he’s currently in great shape and have no immediate concerns. That being said Kenny Pawgers is supposed to stay low key, and avoid stressful situations. Too much stress could disrupt his immune system and that could cause issues with upper respiratory infections which could compromise his breathing issue. We hope that since he’s fully grown now this is just something he’ll live with and it won’t worsen if he’s in a calm, loving, stress-free environment. But if his breathing were to become really labored at any point, he would require further testing to see if the formation of his nasal passage has actually changed over time. As I mentioned, he acts like a normal kitty. Loves to groom his buddies and wrestle. He’s obsessed with plastic spring toys and glitter balls, both of which he’ll carry around in his mouth while he makes his goofy snoring sounds. He really loves his wet food and when I’m getting it ready he likes to give my leg a little nibble like “hurry up mom!”. He loves to be brushed and is affectionate, but more of a “lay on you in bed once in awhile” Vs. “lap cat”. Kenny LOVES watching the squirrels and birds in the feeders outside the bay window. And he also really loves to watch the critters on cat TV too! Kenny will definitely need other kitty friends but with a proper, slow intro. He’s never been around dogs or kids and is used to a quiet home with 2 adults. Kenny Pawgers is in foster care. Please submit an application or contact our adoption specialists at adoptiion@kittyrevolution.org to meet him.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kenny Pawgers, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
