My story

Meet Lightning! Lightning and his brother Thunder were rescued right before the big rainstorms that swept through Southern California in late November. These two brothers love to do everything together and are very bonded. Lightning is a the more shy of the two brothers. He takes a bit of time to warm up, but loves Churu treats and other cat friends. Lightning is very attached to his brother Thunder, and can usually be found snuggled up together or playing with toys together. Lightning is the chunky brother, but don't underestimate how strong he is! He loves to climb and jump and find little nooks to take a nap in. Puff balls, ropes and jingly toys totally absorb his attention. He loves to play with Thunder and they love to run around and play with their toys together. Thunder and Lightning are a bonded pair who will need to be adopted together, but both have also gotten along with other cats in their foster home. They approach other cats slowly at first, but once they know it's safe, they love to snuggle up to them whenever they get the chance. Thunder and Lightning can be adopted into a home where there are already cats. There is a reduced adoption fee for a bonded pair ($125 per kitten, $250 total, this is $50 less than our regular kitten adoption fee of $175). They are neutered, vaccinated for Rabies, FVRCP (3 of 3 doses given), microchipped, tested and are negative for FELV/FIV, and treated for fleas and dewormed. Lightning is a bit anxious and will need an experienced adopter to help him continue to come out of his shell. He is not hissy or aggressive, and as he warms up to you does allow petting and briefly being picked up. He has purred for pets for his current foster humans, but is easily startled. He would not be suitable for a home with small children due to his current needs. Please reach out for additional information.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lightning, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
