My story

Meet Donna! A brilliant and bouncy three-year-old German Shepherd mix currently in Brentwood, CA, whose essence is a dazzling blend of athleticism, affection, and a swirl of brindle beauty. With her sleek black-brindle coat and eager eyes, Donna turns heads, but it’s her heart that truly shines. This girl is the total package for anyone who loves an intelligent, energetic, and incredibly devoted companion. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and knows all the basics thanks to her sharp mind and food-motivated nature. Donna thrives on structure, positive reinforcement, and brain games that challenge her natural instincts. Whether you’re heading out for a run, hitting a trail, or just exploring new sights from the passenger seat, she’s always ready. Tail wagging, tongue out, and paws dancing with excitement! Donna adores her people. She’s a gentle snuggler who will rest her head in your lap, quietly soaking up affection and offering her unconditional love in return. She’s done wonderfully with children ages 7–12 and enjoys being part of the everyday rhythm of family life. While loud noises or unfamiliar sights might cause her to pause, a calm voice and gentle reassurance bring her right back. Donna is a high-energy girl who needs more than just a stroll around the block, she needs real adventure and consistent engagement to be at her happiest. She’s shown great progress with leash training and has even walked calmly beside another dog after a guided session, but she is dog-reactive and will thrive as the only pet in her new loving home. She’s also had an unfortunate experience recently when an off-leash dog attacked her, so a patient and experienced pet parent who understands her sensitivities will be essential. When left alone, Donna does best crated, as she can get a bit too creative with bedding or household items.
