My story

Meet Sandie! This cheerful pup loves playing and snuggling about equally. She loves to spend time with her family, play fetch, go for walks or hikes, and cuddle with you on the couch. Her current owner says, "Sandie truly is a sweetheart who is a big baby. Just wants to be loved, allowed to go out and play and snuggle with mom or dad." Though Sandie will let you know when someone is at the door with a few alert barks, she generally does not bark much. She is smart and trainable and thrives on attention, play, and structure. Sandie could use some work on her leash walking and greeting new people -- she is just so filled with joy and exuberance! -- but she is a quick learner with consistency. She has learned "place" very well so is able to go to her place when visitors arrive -- a great skill to have! When our volunteer met Sandie, she was immediately friendly and ready for petting and attention. :-) Sandie has spent time with a 3- to 4-year-old child and appeared comfortable, calm, and playful. She has not lived with other pets but she has spent time, as a visitor, with cats and was gentle and friendly. She also had an opportunity to play off leash with another dog recently and was friendly, silly, and socially appropriate in this situation. When on a walk or outing, Sandie does find other dogs and people exciting but is not reactive. When other dogs lunge and bark at her, she does her best to avoid them rather than engaging. Sandie is almost 3 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations and has been well taken care of with no known health issues other than possible mild skin allergies. This sweet girl is losing her home because of her current owner's health and financial situation. Sandie's human "mom" is heartbroken over the thought of losing her sweet pup but is in an incredibly difficult situation. We (FFOCAS) are helping her safely rehome Sandie. Interested? Please get in touch via email (ffocas4pets@gmail.com). We'll ask you to fill out a rehoming application to keep this process as safe as possible for all involved -- especially Sandie!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sandie -- Adoption Pending, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
