My story

Meet Ollie and Finn! Ollie and Finn are spectacular dogs around the age of 9. A bonded pair since they were puppies, they embody love, curiosity, loyalty, and intelligence. They are fantastic hikers on a medium length walk. Both love water play. Ollie (black and white) is a strong swimmer and will retrieve anything you throw. He's a champion with ball catching and frisbee! He can catch it in mid-air and brings it right back for another throw. Finn (chestnut colored) is more of a wader, but will wait for sticks to get near to shore for tugging. They love toys, sticks, wrestling, tugging (Finn), and fetching (Ollie). Both offer excellent protection from neighborhood squirrels and chipmunks, but we believe them to be good with other dogs. We don’t know about their experience with cats, all though they seem to have a mild prey drive. Finn has aging joints, and his time spent in small apartments or the shelter have made him stiff and a bit overweight; but he is finding his joy and his mobility with exercise and space to stretch out. He's getting stronger and more playful every as his muscles strengthen and his joints loosen up. In fact, he was leaping around the room the other night playing with a toy! Ollie is a strong runner and seems to not have any mobility issues. They love to go on walks, and are excellent listeners and easy learners. They love to sleep together on the couch, and both prefer to be bed buddies — but Finn is aware of his size (85 lbs.) and sleeps happily on his big bed just below his foster folks. He likes to jump in bed in the morning and lie on your head and pillows. Both Finn and Ollie want to be right next to their people or each other and are affectionate with both. They are gentle and kind, and we’re looking for adopters who will give them time and attention, as they deserve a lifetime of love and companionship. Their forever home should have a large, fenced yard for plenty of playtime, and soft couches and beds that are welcoming for comfy cuddles and lots of time with their people. Both Ollie and Finn are neutered and up to date on their doggie shots. For more info about this wonderful bonded pair, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ollie and Finn - bonded pair, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
