My story

Meet Hayes – Tall, Brown and Handsome (and Only 10 Weeks Old!)  Age: 10 weeks.  Breed: Coonhound mix.  Body type: Long, lanky, and growing into my ears.  Location: Wherever the big dogs are—because I adore them About me: Hi, I’m Hayes, your future loyal sidekick and professional follower of older dogs. If there’s a canine role model around, I’m their biggest fan and shadow. I’m a clever little guy (already catching on to this potty training thing fast!), and I promise to make you proud with how quickly I learn.  When I’m not studying the big dogs’ every move, you’ll find me exploring the great outdoors—sniffing every leaf, chasing every breeze, and showing off my impressive tennis ball skills. (Seriously, have you seen me with a tennis ball? Total pro in training.)  I’ve got a calm, gentle nature and love hanging out with kids—those tiny humans make me wag! I haven’t met a cat yet, but I’m open-minded. I’m a sensitive soul, though; being picked up still feels a little scary, but I really want to love it, and with your patience, I know I’ll get there soon. Looking for:  A forever family who loves puppy cuddles, outdoor adventures, and a goofy, thoughtful pup who’ll grow into his paws and heart at the same time. If you’ve got older dogs, even better—I’ll look up to them (literally and figuratively).  Fun fact: I may be small now, but my heart (and future bark) are huge.
