My story

Harvey is happiest in a lap. This boy is cuddly and soft. Overhead movements make him pancake but his response is desperate forgiveness when he did nothing wrong. The sound of a squeaky toy crumpled him. It is sad to think of what his past life dealt him to feel this way. Harvey is the type of dog that craves love more than nourishment for his thin body. He just such a nice boy even after a life of hardship. Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated proper to adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
