My story

“OLIVER” is an apricot and white Toy Poodle who was born April 17, 2024. This 18-month-old little boy was deeply loved and well cared for all his life. However, his beloved family found that they were unable to give him and his brother the care, attention and love they deserved. Tearfully, Oliver came to us. Oliver is 8 pounds and measures 10 inches tall. He is so very cute, active, just loves attention from everyone, will follow you all around the house, but can be feisty. With your permission, he is so excited to jump up on the couch to cuddle in your lap or to watch TV. He curiously watches the squirrels enjoying our outside bird bath, but he doesn’t complain about them. But he will let us know when someone comes to the door! He is also an extremely smart and sociable boy that knows the word “NO!”. Right now, he is at the teenager stage and learning about what he can and cannot do. Oliver is quickly learning to come when called but will come immediately when he hears the treat bag being rattled. He knows when it’s time to eat (food motivated), has kept his kennel clean and has been a perfect little boy in our home (house-trained). Up and down steps he will fly with no problems, will run around our backyard with all the other dogs and just loves to quietly play with all the toys when he’s not in your lap. Oliver has always been around other dogs (including his brother), but we see that he is just fine by himself. In that way, he gets all the attention. *While he is leash trained, a securely fenced yard would be nice. *Preference will also be given to a family with past Poodle experience. PLEASE: *NO cats and NO young children. *NO aggressive or assertive dogs as they do scare him and me. *Like most all rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota. He has been neutered, teeth are good, Heartworm, Lymes and Ehrlichia tested negative, wormed, all his shots (including rabies) are up to date. He has also been Home Again microchipped and registered. We do not have a copy of his AKC papers. As with all our Poodles, Oliver’s adoption fee is one million, trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family his adoption fee is $600.00 which includes $45.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax. Also included is his leash, collar, kennel, a bag of quality dog food, a new dog food container, treats, various dog toys in a toy box, a soft dog bed and blankets along with some good information to help your Poodle’s adoption move forward on the right paw! More pictures along with our required "Adoption Application" is available on our web site: www.picketspoodles.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt OLIVER, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
