My story

Thelma’s past is one no dog should have to live through. She came to us from the same heartbreaking hoarding and abandonment case in Yuma, Arizona, where she spent her early life without the love, care, or stability every dog deserves. But even after all she’s been through, Thelma’s heart remains soft and open.This sweet girl is quiet, affectionate, and incredibly gentle. She’s still adjusting to the idea that humans can be kind—and it’s been beautiful to watch her bloom. These days, she’s soaking up love like sunshine, slowly learning that laps are warm, voices can be soft, and she is safe now.Like many dogs from her background, Thelma is still learning the basics of being a dog. She’ll need patient guidance with leash walking, toy play, and potty training. But her willingness to trust and her calm nature make her a joy to work with.Thelma would thrive in a peaceful home with someone who sees her not for where she came from, but for the loving, loyal companion she’s becoming. She’s ready to be someone’s whole world—and finally know what it feels like to be truly wanted.
