My story

Meet Jane & Hugo – A Bonded Pair Full of Love, Joy, and a Little Bit of Mischief 🐾 Some cats come into your life quietly… and then there are the ones who change everything. Jane and her son Hugo are that kind of special. Jane—lovingly called Janey—was rescued on the day we lost the incredible Jane Goodall. Naming her after such a compassionate soul felt right… and somehow, Janey lives up to it every day. About a week later, her son Hugo was trapped and reunited with her. Since then, they’ve been inseparable—not just mother and son, but best friends. They do everything together. They sleep curled into one tiny bed. They eat side by side. They walk with their tails wrapped together like it’s their own little language of love. And if you come meet them… you’ll see it instantly. ✨ Janey (Jane) Janey is pure sunshine in a tiny black cat body. With her bright jade-green eyes, white-tipped paws, and the cutest little white patch on her chest, she’s as beautiful as she is loving. She adores cheek scratches (seriously—those chubby cheeks were made for it) and will happily soak up all your affection. She’s playful too—wand toys, balls, catnip mice… she loves it all. Her joyful, kitten-like spirit is something truly special. She also has a slight neurological quirk that gives her an adorable head tilt and makes her a little wobbly at times. It doesn’t slow her down—it just makes her even more endearing. She prefers ramps or stairs instead of jumping, and honestly… it just adds to her charm. ✨ Hugo Hugo is her golden-eyed shadow. He’s a sleek black kitty with a tiny white chest patch and a personality that slowly unfolds into something unforgettable. He can be shy at first—but give him a little time (and watch how he looks to his mom for confidence), and you’ll see his sweet, goofy side come out. He’s known to sneak food if given the chance… and somehow, you won’t even be mad about it. He may not realize he can jump (thanks to following mom’s lead his whole life), but he’s mastered the art of stealing hearts instead. 💛 The Perfect Pair - Around 1 - 2 years old - Spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped - Bonded and must stay together - Prefer a calm home with love, playtime, and enrichment - They aren’t big on being picked up—but they show love in quieter, deeper ways. Sitting near you. Sleeping beside you. Choosing you, over and over again. - They will remind you if dinner is late (by approximately two minutes 😄), and yes—they have very healthy appetites. 📍 Located in Huntsville, AL 🚗 Transport available up to 2 hours for the right home These two are something you don’t fully understand from photos or words alone. But if you come meet them… you’ll get it. And you’ll fall in love. 💌 Apply today to meet Jane & Hugo—and see for yourself just how special they are.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jane, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
