Cato & Dante

My story

Cato and Dante are the same age (six weeks old) but are unrelated orphans. Cato came to our rescue on September 10, 2025. He was found under a car at Charlotte Latin School during student pick up time. Not a safe place to be. He was covered in fleas and his eyes were crusted over. A few baths later, some calories and fluids, and he perked up nicely. He was about 10 days old, so we are calling his birthday August 27th. Cato’s name comes from Latin meaning “Wise.” Dante came to our rescue on September 24, 2025, from the Lancaster Animal Shelter. We had posted that Cato was alone and needed a friend, and the Shelter came through for him. Dante was found in an abandoned house with no siblings or mom in sight. He appeared to be about the same age, so we will also call his birthday August 27th. Both kittens are healthy and playful. They are both snugglers, but Dante definitely has the bigger personality. He’s like a tiny monster truck - all motor and happy to run things over. Cato is the thinker. From what we can tell, Dante doesn’t think about much except for food, play, and sleep. They make a great pair of odd couple friends. Our strong preference is for bonded kittens to be adopted in pairs, the advantage being you are guaranteed to have a compatible match. They provide comfort, companionship, and a wrestling partner for each other. In the right situation we will consider applications to adopt them separately, but that condition would be to a home with another cat or a cat-friendly dog. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic. To set up a visit, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me.
