My story

Hi, I’m Maru! 🐶💕 I’m a 3-year-old Jindo mix girl, weighing about 11kg — just the right size for cuddles, if you ask me! My story almost ended before it truly began, but I was rescued just in time and given a second chance at life. And now, I’m ready to find someone who will love me forever. Maybe… you? Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m still a cheerful, affectionate pup with a heart full of love. I welcome people with a wagging tail and my signature move — the “butt lift” (you’ll see!). I may be small, but I’ve got a big personality and even more love to give. I get along well with other dogs, especially small to medium-sized ones. I’d do great in a multi-dog home or as your one and only — I’m flexible like that! I also really like cats. Sometimes I get a little too curious and try to say hi, which shy kitties might not love. But when I meet a friendly cat? We play chase like we’ve been besties forever. 🐾 People are my favorite. I warm up to strangers quickly and love getting pets and attention. Sometimes, I bark at older men — just being honest! — but I’m totally comfortable around younger guys and women. I’m proud to say I’m a smart girl. I know how to use pee pads without being taught, and I do my business outside like a champ. I don’t have separation anxiety, and I behave well when left alone. I even know some commands like “sit,” “down,” “wait,” and “let’s go!” And guess what? I love car rides — I hop right in and calmly watch the world go by. 🚗✨ I have plenty of energy and enjoy tug toys, chasing balls, and sometimes being a little mischievous — like nibbling on blankets or tiny things when I’m feeling playful. But really, I just love being part of the action and making you smile. On walks, I’m usually calm and well-mannered, but if I see a cat or bird, I might get excited and pull. Loud noises or souped-up cars can startle me too, but if you reassure me with your voice, I settle right down. I’m always listening and learning. 🧠💡 But the very best thing about me? I love love. I want to be by your side, make you laugh, and give you all the affection I can. I’ve got a cheerful, silly heart and a sweet soul, and I’m ready to fill your life with joy. Whether you already have furry family members or you’re looking for your very first, I’m ready to fit right in. I’m Maru — playful, loyal, loving… and waiting just for you. 🐾💛

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maru, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
