There is an adorable video of me on social media! Click here to experience the cuteness! Laguardia - found as a stray and brought to ACC by NYPDMeet Laguardia (LGA, like the airport!)-a 6-year-old, medium mixed-breed sweetheart who arrived with NYPD after a member of the public found her running loose. She's a gentle, snuggly girl who loves head scritches and relaxing near her people. My ideal homeA calm, adult-only home that will give LGA time to decompress and continue positive-reinforcement training. She's easy-going inside, enjoys meeting new people, and thrives with a predictable routine, enrichment (sniffy walks, food puzzles), and lots of cuddle breaks.Good with Kids?Adult-only (no children under 13). LGA is working on her confidence and can be uncomfortable around high-energy environments.Good with other pets?LGA can become tense around other dogs on leash and has shown kennel reactivity. She may do best as the only pet while she builds skills. If you have a resident dog, we'll arrange a slow, structured meet-and-greet. (Cats: unknown.)Leash MannersPolite walker at your side once she settles in. When she sees other dogs, she may get stiff and focused; treats, distance, and a front-clip harness help her reset. She's learning check-ins and responds to patient, reward-based guidance.Overall healthSpayed 8/27/25, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.Recently treated for kennel cough while in foster and recovered.Vet notes: cropped ears with occasional debris (cleaned), a small tan gluteal skin mass that appears benign and hasn't bothered her, mild dental tartar. Post-op recovery has been smooth.Weight around 53.5 lbs.Behavior Determination & Other NotesLevel 3. Recommendation: adult-only home; support for on-leash reactivity/barrier frustration using force-free training. LGA is affectionate and leans in for pets-she simply needs consistent, kind coaching to feel secure.Fun factsHer foster calls her a "sweet, loving mush" who will lounge near you all day.She has a signature move: the "apple alert." Bite into one and she'll appear with the cutest face, politely asking for a taste.Airport nickname, couch-snuggle heart-she's ready for takeoff to her forever home.My foster writes:Laguardia otherwise known as LGA (like the airport!) is a sweet and loving mush who can't get enough head scritches and is content to lounge near the people she loves all day. Don't let her hear you eating an apple because as soon as you bite into one, she'll be by your side with an irresistible face pleading for you to share. She is easy-going and calm, and loves meeting new people as long as they're willing to give her some pets. LGA has a lot of love Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 51 Age: 10yrs 3mths 2wks
