Our sweet and beautiful Luna couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she might try. Luna is a 2 year old, 50 lb Goldendoodle that is just waiting to be the love of a special family's life. The Goldendoodle mix has has grown hugely in popularity over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their engaging, very loving temperaments, intelligence, cottony-soft non-shedding coats and easygoing, sweet personalities. Farfel's Rescue makes an effort to rescue as many needy Doodles as possible with the confidence that they'll be sweet and loving family members. From Luna's foster: * * * * "Luna is a FANTASTIC dog. She is potty trained. She doesn’t mind her crate and will go in when the door is opened. However, she’s not happy when we leave her. (Since she does cry a bit, she should go to a home instead of an apartment.) She is very, very comfortable sleeping on the bed. It's clear she's had a home before. She’s well behaved. She doesn’t bark and is super friendly with both people and dogs. I get the impression she spent a lot of time cuddling on the bed. She's very smart and learned to "sit" very fast. She was very happy and grateful to be given a toy of her own. She’s very smart. No bad behaviors to speak of except counter surfing. She helped herself to a filet mignon off the counter last night. She doesn’t pull on the leash. She really enjoys having a bully stick to chew." * * * * Luna wouldn't be happy spending the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home alone. She is far too people-oriented to be happy with that arrangement. A retiree or a younger family that works from a home-based office would be a great choice. Luna will love the periodic belly rubs, walks and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'll also learn that she's always loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident family dog. We'd like to place Luna in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young girl whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Luna has a gorgeous coat that was shaved down due to being shelter-sad. It's clear that her non-shedding coat will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks or so) and excellent nutrition, A five star food and a daily salmon oil supplement will bring Luna's hair back to the cottony-soft and shining coat that is consistent with her breed mix. Luna has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to further our hopes of a euthanasia - free future in the overpopulated canine world. Luna is available for adoption now. If interested in this very sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Luna please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Luna, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
