My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750   Meet Whiskey & Bourbon!   This dynamic duo of 14–16 week old pups was rescued from the shelter and has been keeping their foster family smiling ever since. Whiskey and Bourbon are playful, loving, and oh-so-smart—two peas in a pod who are always ready for adventure, snuggles, or a good belly rub.   Their day starts bright and early around 7 a.m. with a potty break and backyard playtime with their foster’s dogs. After breakfast, they’re content to nap for a few hours before starting the whole potty-play-nap routine again at lunch and dinner. By bedtime (around 9–10 p.m.), these clever boys settle into their x-pen with zero fuss—no crying, no accidents, and by their third day in foster care, they had already nailed their potty training. They even learned to use the doggy door all on their own!   When they first arrived, Whiskey and Bourbon were a little unsure of their new surroundings, but it didn’t take long for them to realize they were safe. Now they are total lovebugs— affectionate, velcro pups who follow their people everywhere. Bourbon has a signature move: flopping onto his back mid-play for belly rubs. Whiskey keeps everyone laughing with his hilarious facial expressions whenever he’s picked up. Together, they are an absolute hoot.   These boys adore kids, get along great with other dogs (even tiny ones!), and have just the right mix of puppy energy and lounge-around calm. They love running and playing outside but are just as good at curling up for a nap when playtime is over. They’re gentle, social, and eager to please—the kind of pups who will melt into your family with ease.   Smart, silly, and full of love, Whiskey and Bourbon are looking for a forever home (or homes!) with plenty of playtime, affection, and maybe some kids or dogs to keep up with their energy.
