My story

Meet Bom - Currently in St. Paul, Minnesota Name: Bom Age: about 2 years Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo/Spitz Mix Color: Light Beige + White Weight / Height: 10 kg / 38cm   Personality   Bom is a sweet and gentle soul who needs extra time to feel safe around new people. He is quite timid— but he’ll take treats (meat or jerky) and allow gentle pets when you approach him slowly and respect his boundaries. Once he trusts you, Bom will slowly open up and even tap you with his paw as if to say “please pet me.”   ‍‍ With People & Kids • Sensitive to sudden movements and loud noises — a quiet home is ideal. • Will run away if a stranger tries to pick him up, but once bonded, he will let you hold him (while clinging tightly with his paws ).   ‍ With Other Animals • Feels more comfortable around dogs of similar or smaller size and feels safest with a calm canine companion. Having another dog in the home will be essential. • Lived peacefully with both dogs and cats in foster care. • On walks, he stays focused on his handler, even when cats are nearby.   ‍ Walking & Daily Life   • Low to Moderate energy level – happy to play outside, calm and relaxed indoors. • Walks beautifully on leash, always on his handler’s right side.   • Doesn’t pull, but panics if the leash wraps around his legs – so he needs gentle, careful handling. • Rarely barks • No resource guarding with people or dogs • Prefers entering the car from the right-side door but gets carsick (drools). • Mostly potties outdoors • Has adorable little quirks – like always offering his right paw first after a walk   Rescue Story   Bom came to the shelter with his mom and sibling as a tiny 1–2 month old puppy in March 2023. Sadly, he grew up in a small kennel with little human contact for nearly a year before being rescued in January 2024 — just in time.   His mom and sibling were adopted first, but timid Bom didn’t know how to trust people yet. After 3 months in foster care, he’s learning what love feels like — waiting by the door for his walks , offering his paws to be wiped , and slowly showing his foster family his warm little heart.   Bom is looking for a patient and loving family who will go at his pace, let him blossom slowly, and celebrate every little milestone. With time, he’ll reward you with quiet loyalty and the sweetest moments. Send in your application through our website to give this sweet boy his forever home!  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. ##2521671##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bom, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
