ALL ABOUT ME  Name: Happy Age: 3 years old Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Poodle Colour: Beige Weight: 4kg / 8.8lbs Microchipped: Yes   MY RESCUE STORY Hi there! My name is Happy. My past wasn’t so happy—I was rescued from a heartbreaking situation where I was severely neglected, my fur was painfully matted, and I was tied up with a tight chain. Thankfully, rescuers came to my aid and gave me the second chance I deserve. Now, with a fresh start and a hopeful heart, I’m ready to find my forever family and live the happy life I was always meant to have!   MY HEALTH Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete) I’ve been spayed and healthy overall.   MY PERSONALITY I got my name Happy because of my charming, contagious smile! I’m always grinning and my joy shines brightest when I’m around people. I absolutely adore human companionship and love leaning on my people for emotional support. Deep down, I’m a total baby at heart—I just want to be snuggled, comforted, and showered with love. With me by your side, you’ll always have a loyal little shadow and a reason to smile!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS With People: I absolutely crave human company — meeting people, getting cuddles, and soaking up pets are my absolute favorite things. I might be a bit shy with some folks at first, but I warm up quickly with a little kindness and a treat. Once I trust you, I’ll be your devoted shadow — following you everywhere, begging for cuddles, and demanding all the pampering (what can I say? I’m a baby!). Staff and volunteers say I have a huge desire to form a bond with people, and once that bond is made, I’m all heart and loyalty.     With Dogs:  I love meeting new dogs and enjoy a good play session! I tend to get along best with smaller pups or those around my size. Big or super high-energy dogs can overwhelm me a bit, so I feel more comfortable with calmer companions.   With Cats:  I haven’t had much experience with cats yet, so my reaction is still a little unknown. That said, when I do spot a cat during walks, I get curious and take a quick peek—but I quickly lose interest and happily continue exploring. With careful introductions, I may do well in a home with a cat-savvy feline friend!   ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES I have a moderate energy level—I’m the best of both worlds! I enjoy getting outside for some fun and fresh air, whether it’s a nice walk or a bit of playtime. But once we’re home, I’m more than happy to curl up beside you and be your cozy little shadow. I know when to be active and when it’s time to just relax and enjoy the quiet moments together.   TRAINING & HABITS I generally walk nicely on leash and follow my handler’s lead. I feel most comfortable in quieter areas since busy streets and cars can spook me a little. With gentle encouragement and patience, I’ll keep building my confidence on walks. I don’t guard my food from people, but I can be a bit sensitive if another dog comes too close to my bowl—so feeding me separately is the best setup. I know how to potty both indoors and outdoors, and while I’m still learning to fully settle in my kennel (I may whine at first), I adjust with time. I can bark for attention here and there, but overall I’m a quiet pup.   Because I bond so deeply, I may need a little extra support adjusting once I find my forever family—but the love I’ll give in return will be worth it! Due to my neglected past, I’m more sensitive about grooming, especially having my paws and mouth touched. With patience, kindness, and positive desensitization, I’ll continue to improve and learn to feel safe.     MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment. A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors. A family that can shower me with love and attention. A family that is willing to guide me with patience and love for basic obedience training and leash walking. A family who understands my love for food and willing to train me so I can learn to be more patient when other dogs are around. A family who understands that I’m sensitive to grooming and having my paws and mouth touched due to my past. I will need continued guidance with grooming.     SPECIAL NOTES I’m a sweet boy who just wants nothing more than to be forever loved by my forever family. I know my perfect match is out there waiting for me! I may be more vocal with dogs I don’t click with, but that’s just my way of expressing myself and setting boundaries. Because I bond so deeply, I’ll need a family who understands that I may develop separation anxiety and is willing to guide me through it with patience and love.
