Nyra

My story

Nyra is a sweet young dog who is very eager to please her people. She is very treat-motivated and attentive and easy to train because of it. She is house trained and friendly with people and dogs. She is curious about cats but can chase and scare them, so we can't really call her "cat-friendly." She is working on crate training and is making progress. Her leash and harness skills need some practice but she is learning, along with sit, stay, and come. She does bark sometimes — for example at noises, people/dogs passing by windows, and for the first few minutes in her crate — but we are working on that. Until then, homes with shared walls (apartments, townhouses) may not be the best option for her. But she is a happy friendly girl, great with dog-friendly kids over about 5 years, and so lovable and eager to please, we are certain she will be a wonderful dog for the right family. From her foster: “Nyra is a very sweet, loving dog. She likes to rest her head on your lap on the couch and snuggle in your bed. She is extremely sensitive and smart and a joy to train. Despite her love of snuggling, she’s a pretty active dog and would do very well in an active household.”
