My story

***LOCAL ADOPTER NEEDED (within 50 miles of Apex, NC)! This dog still needs to complete her heartworm treatment at our partner vet.*** Hi! My name is Carly and I’m a 2 year old, 50lb, super sweet pup! I was found as a stray and I’m so happy to be in a home now, I’m always on my best behavior! I am the easiest car rider you’ll ever meet and I have excellent house manners! I always obey my foster family’s rules of staying downstairs, not getting on furniture or begging for people food. During the day, I love lounging on my dog bed or in my crate. Belly rolling in the grass is my favorite past time! I probably set the record for most belly rolls in a day! I’m a quick learner and eager to please! I learned how to sit in a day! I’m currently working on my leash manners. I’m a small but strong girl and can be a big leash puller on walks so anyone who adopts me will need to have strong arms and patience to work with me. I love kids of all ages. I’m dog friendly with slow and careful introductions. With unknown dogs, I sometimes bark and growl but with proper introductions I’ve made friends and had successful play dates. I’m currently recovering from spay surgery and will need heartworm treatment that Peak Lab will pay for, so I need a local adopter who can take me to my vet appointments in Apex.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Carly Columbus, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
