My story

CASSIE 2 years Attributes Dog friendly Good in cars Playful Requires another dog Requires a fence Working on housetraining Arooo!!! My name is Cassie, and I'm a two-year-old girl with a big heart and even bigger dreams. I was rescued from West Virginia with another dog, and we were hunting dogs who wouldn’t hunt. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm no good at it because I'd much rather chase birds and squirrels rather than rabbits. I've been in a foster home for almost two months, and I've learned so much. When I first got here, I was pretty shy and nervous. I hid behind the shed and had to have a leash on all the time, so my foster parents could catch me. The world was a scary place, and I wasn't sure what to make of all the new sights and sounds. But with the help of my foster family and my new dog friends, I'm starting to come out of my shell. I love playing with other dogs. They teach me how to be a dog and help me gain confidence. I'm still learning how to trust, but I'm getting better every day. My very favorite thing to do is go on walks and hunt for squirrels. I sleep in a dog bed in the same room as my foster family, but I'm getting more comfortable and spend some time in the big bed with my canine siblings before the humans go to bed. While I used to feel safest outside, I'm spending more time inside investigating what is happening with the humans. I also love to perch on the loveseat and look outside. I'm starting to play with toys and discovering a bit more mischief too. I'm looking for a family who understands that I'm a work in progress. I need a home where I can feel safe and loved, and where I can continue to grow into the confident, happy dog I know I can be.
