My story

Meet Thistle! Thistle is a sweetheart through and through, with one big secret—he absolutely LOVES to be held. Pick him up, and he’ll instantly start purring, tuck his head under your chin, and happily soak up all the love. He even gives kisses and adores kisses on his head in return. Though he had a rough start outside, Thistle has a gentle soul. He’s shy at first and may hide when he’s unsure, but he never shows fear aggression. Once he realizes who you are, he’ll run right to you, begging for head rubs and full-body snuggles—he’ll even throw himself into your hand to make sure you don’t miss a spot! Thistle is still figuring out toys (he wasn’t sure what they were at first), but his curiosity grows every day. He’s also very interested in other cats—he may start shy, but quickly warms up and loves interacting with feline friends. In fact, at his temporary foster home, the adult resident kitties treated him like their own baby, cuddling him close. Thistle would do best with a calm, confident cat to help him feel at ease. When it comes to dogs, he’s curious but cautious—comfortable when safe in a playpen, but a bit unsure when loose around them. With slow introductions, he could likely adjust. Thistle is super cuddly, endlessly sweet, and ready to find a forever home where he’ll be cherished for the affectionate lovebug he is. Whoever adopts him is in for a lifetime of kisses, snuggles, and purrs. Thistle is currently at our PetSmart location on Woodward. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
