Walter is a sweet and tenderhearted senior dog who weighs 24 pounds. He is a true Texas street dog. Once he knows you will be kind to him, he loves to get attention and affection. Coming from the environment he was in previously, it is apparent that he wasn’t handled very much so he just needs a few minutes to know that he is in a safe space. He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue, but prefers female dogs for companionship. He would do best in a calm and patient home without small children where he can get acclimated to his new surroundings and learn to trust. He is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call his own for his golden years. He is looking for someone that will love on him, never stop petting him, feed him yummy food and love him for the sweet dog that he is. Walter is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Geneva, IL on October, 18th with approved application and confirmed adoption! He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip **Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.** If you’d like to make this sweet dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Heartworm language: Walter tested positive for heartworms and was treated. Walter tested positive for Chagas disease and has already started treatment. With treatment, Chagas is fully curable, and dogs go on to live long, happy lives. Tracy’s Paws is one of the first rescues to test every dog for Chagas, and we’ve had measurable success with our treatment protocol. We are also committed to educating adopters and the public about Chagas.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Walter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
