My story

Meet Roxy, a beautiful tri-color Heeler mix with a heart as big as her playful spirit! This sweet girl has spent the last nine months bravely undergoing heartworm treatment and is now officially HEARTWORM FREE—healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever home. Roxy is potty trained, full of energy, and absolutely loves running around and playing with her doggy pals. She would prefer to live with other dogs. She’s been living in a foster home with kids, where she’s shown just how friendly, fun, and adaptable she can be. Roxy would not do well in a home with cat(s). Always eager for adventure, she’s the perfect mix of playful and affectionate. If you already have a canine companion at home, we encourage you to call and schedule a meet-and-greet to make sure it’s a perfect match. Since Roxy is currently in foster care, scheduling ahead will also ensure she’s ready to meet you. This resilient, joyful girl is ready to leave her past behind and start a brand-new chapter with a loving family. Could that be with you? Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
