My story

Midnight is a handsome kitten with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. He was surrendered in June alongside his siblings, Sparky and Asher, and spent time in a foster home where he learned that people, pets and playtime are all pretty great. While Asher has already found his forever home, Midnight and his brother Sparky are still waiting. They don’t need to be adopted together, but we want adopters to know that they are related in case they are looking to double the love. But here’s something important to know: Black cats like Midnight are statistically the most overlooked in shelters. Whether it’s due to outdated superstitions or simply being harder to photograph, black cats often wait longer for adoption than cats of other colors. But here’s the truth: Black cats are not unlucky. They’re absolutely magical! In fact, in many cultures, black cats are considered symbols of good fortune, protection and prosperity: 🇯🇵 In Japan, black cats are believed to attract good luck and romantic success. 🌊 Sailors once brought black cats on ships to keep them safe during long journeys. So if you’re looking for love, charm and maybe even a little extra luck then Midnight could be your perfect match. Midnight at a Glance: 🐾 Male kitten – sleek black coat, golden eyes, full of personality 🏡 Social & Affectionate – well-socialized with cats and dogs in foster care 🖤 Overlooked but Unforgettable – a gem hiding in plain sight 🤝 Brother to Sparky – can be adopted solo or as a pair Midnight is more than just a black cat. He’s a loving, playful companion ready to bring light into your life. Don’t overlook the magic! Come meet Midnight and see why black cats are truly the luckiest of them all. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Midnight, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
