My story

Introducing Janie! (now called Lainey) Affectionate Playful Social Snuggly Hi, I’m Janie! I’m a sweet, affectionate, and playful girl who loves everyone I meet. I’m full of energy and joy—always ready for playtime, and just as eager to snuggle when the fun is done. Since I’m still young, I’m learning my boundaries and thrive when I have structure and guidance from my people. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and love to play enthusiastically, sometimes a little rough, so I really need a large and playful dog companion in my forever home. I adore people, but since I can be bouncy and energetic, any children in my home should be older. I mostly ignore cats, but if they run, I may chase—my playful side sometimes gets the better of me! Likes & Dislikes:• Snuggling• Playing with other dogs• Being with my people• No dislikes noted I’m crate trained and will often go in on my own for naps or bedtime. I do need to be crated when left alone right now, since I can be a little mischievous if unsupervised. I’m fully housebroken and know sit, stay, wait, and no—I’m a smart girl who’s eager to keep learning! When I first came into rescue, I had a broken hip that has since been repaired. I still have a little limp, but it doesn’t hold me back from playing or enjoying life. I will need some help getting into vehicles since I can’t jump in on my own. Forever Home Wishlist: A physical fence is recommended but not required A midsize to large yard to play in Another large, playful dog in the home is a must No apartments A family who isn’t gone for more than 4 hours at a time Older children would be best due to my energy and playfulness Fun Fact: Even though I started out with a broken hip, nothing slows me down—I’m proof that resilience comes with four paws, a wagging tail, and plenty of zoomies! If you think Janie will be a great addition to your family, please reach out to us by following one of the options below. 1. If you have already completed the adoption or foster application process and are an approved adopter with UMGDR, please contact Janie’s Placement Coordinator at michelle@thegreatdanerescue.com to learn more about her. 2. If you are not yet an approved adopter through UMGDR, you must complete our application process before you can be considered to adopt a dog through our rescue. Please visit https://www.thegreatdanerescue.com/adoption-application to complete an application and submit your $25 application fee to begin the process. After you have been approved, please reach out to Janie’s Placement Coordinator by emailing michelle@thegreatdanerescue.com. This fun-loving Dane is located in Council Alleman, IA. ##2431822##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Janie (25-061), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
