My story

Conner is a sweet, gentle 6-year-old boy who weighs just under 40 pounds, making him the perfect medium-sized companion. He came to BARCS as a stray and is still finding his confidence, but he’s already showing everyone what a calm, affectionate, and easygoing dog he truly is.On his recent Dogs Day Out (DDO), Conner proved to be an absolute delight. Out on the neighborhood walk, he was calm, steady, and easy to handle—completely unfazed by joggers, other dogs, or the usual city bustle. He trotted happily along, checking in every now and then for a soft nose boop, showing just how much he enjoys gentle connection with his people.Once back home, Conner’s playful side came out. While he may be a little shy in new spaces at first, his natural warmth quickly shines through. With patience and reassurance, he opens up into a friendly, affectionate boy who is eager to bond. His DDO buddy described him as kind and easygoing—a gentle soul who just needs a little time to feel secure.Conner has also met other dogs at BARCS and has been social and playful with his canine friends. His balanced, friendly nature makes him a wonderful candidate for a household with another pup, or he could happily soak up all the attention as your one and only.This sweet boy is ready to trade the shelter for a loving home where he can relax, play, and show off the depth of his love.
