My story

Benjamin Franklin is a 10 year old, 20 pound Long Hair Dachshund looking for his retirement home!Just like the Founding Father himself, our Benjamin Franklin is brimming with curiosity. He’s fascinated by the world around him and finds joy in both people-watching and dog-watching. Sociable and charming (and honestly, have you seen that sweet sugar face?), Benjamin has a way of drawing everyone in wherever he goes. This distinguished gentleman enjoys leisurely strolls and spending time outdoors, but he’s equally fond of life’s finer comforts—a cozy bed, tasty treats, and plenty of affection from his favorite people. While he may not enjoy the company of other dogs, when it comes to people, he’s a natural statesman of the heart. Adopting Benjamin Franklin means bringing home a pup who proves that curiosity, charm, and a love for life never go out of style—truly, life, liberty, and the pursuit of belly rubs!Benjamin Franklin recently went on a FURlough Fieldtrip to the Midtown Farmer`s Market. He is a friendly dog who walks well on leash and enjoys the attention he gets for being so cute!I’d like to be the only dog in my new home.I don’t have a history with cats. I may do well with them with a slow introduction.I don’t have a history with children but I may do well with them.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Benjamin Franklin, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
