Smokey

My story

Smokey is a one-year-old big guy with a huge heart and plenty of puppy energy. Even though he’s still young, he missed out on some early training and structure, so since arriving at the shelter, he’s been working hard to learn good manners and figure out how to be the best dog he can be. Despite his size and playful energy, Smokey is a total sweetheart who loves cuddles and giving kisses whenever he gets the chance. The shelter environment hasn’t been easy for Smokey — it can feel pretty overwhelming and stressful for a pup like him. What he really needs is a calm, patient home where he can feel safe and start to relax. Because he’s strong and still needs some training, he’d do best with someone who has experience with big, energetic dogs and can give him the structure and guidance he needs to grow. Smokey hasn’t been tested with other dogs yet, so for now, it’s best if he’s the only dog in the house. Cats aren’t a great match for him either, so a cat-free home would be ideal. With the right family who can offer lots of love, patience, and consistency, Smokey is ready to leave shelter life behind and become a loyal, playful companion who will bring tons of joy and fun to your life. If you’re looking for a goofy, loving dog who’s still got a lot to learn but a whole lot of love to give, Smokey just might be the perfect fit for you.
