My story

Meet Ace! Ace is a gentle giant who is as sweet as he is handsome. He’s a calm, affectionate boy who loves lounging on the floor, soaking up pets, and especially enjoys his signature “head hugs.” While he has a playful side—particularly with his medium-sized dog foster brother—Ace is generally a laid-back pup who’s happiest relaxing by your side. Ace is very food motivated (he loves all treats!) and enjoys going for walks. He has been improving beautifully on leash, especially when walked alone, though he can get excited when he spots squirrels and may pull with his big-dog strength. With more exposure, he’s already showing progress in keeping calm around them. Ace is dog-friendly and has done well with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. He has also met cats and was curious but respectful, and he’s been great with the children he’s met—even happily accepting snuggles from young kids and babies. At home, Ace is house trained (with only a few initial marking incidents) and crate trained. He settles nicely at night and has been fine for a few hours alone, though he does whine or sing for the first little while before calming down. During the day, he’s happy to nap nearby and will follow you around the house when he’s feeling extra attached. The ideal home for Ace would be one where he can continue building on his leash skills and excitability, but he’d thrive in almost any loving household—whether with another dog, cats, or children. He’s a big, gentle, social boy who loves attention but isn’t overly demanding. Ace’s foster family compares him to Baloo from The Jungle Book—easygoing, affectionate, and full of love.
