My story

Meet Fall !! We recently took in Fall and his siblings (summer, winter and spring) from an awful situation. The owners threw them all outside to roam around and live on their own. They refused to bring them inside to safety to give us time to save them. Thankfully a neighbor saw this and over a few days helped catch them all for us. They were dirty, covered in fleas, full of worms and under socialized. Thankfully we have resolved those issues and they are ready to go to great homes. Fall looks like a beagle and lab mix puppy but the owner told the neighbor they were beagle and golden mix. They are approx 5-6 months old and not very big. We estimate medium size full grown. He is currently only 26 pounds. He will be given several sets of vaccines, dewormed, a microchip and neutered as part of his adoption. Fall was terrified of people at first but now he’s showing us his fun playful and loving side. He’s learning that all people aren’t scary and loves to follow his foster mom around now. He is very active and playful. He loves toys of all kinds and running around the yard. He loves other dogs and loves to play. He can come on strong with his play so another playful dog would be best. He has done well with all the kids he’s met. He still does some jumping up on people. He has not met any cats yet but is young enough to learn. He has not had any trouble sharing food treats and toys. Fall is still young and learning all his training. He wasn’t shown how to behave prior to coming to us but is learning quickly. He is not completely potty trained but is starting to get the idea. He is crate trained but can still be vocal at times. He does settle down and sleep through the night in the crate. He did fine in the car and did not get sick. He will need more leash training. They had clearly never been on a leash before we got them so it was very scary for them. They are starting to understand it more now but will require additional help from their new owners. Fall is currently a fairly active guy. He has a medium to high energy level. He enjoys a good snuggle but mostly is in his playful stage. He is also smart and eager to learn. He loves to explore and play. He is an active puppy and will need lots of physical and mental stimulation to keep him happy and out of trouble. Overall this handsome boy is sweet, fun and just wants to be loved. He was let down by his previous owners and is looking for a family to be as loyal to him as he will be to them. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family’s lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. We do NOT adopt siblings into the same family. Before commenting on how sad etc, you feel that is please google “littermate syndrome” so you can understand why we take this precaution. It is done in the best interest of the puppies. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com (or for more pics and faster response visit our Facebook Page) directly with questions or to get an application.‼️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fall, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
