My story

Meet Caroline – a senior sweetheart with the calm, gentle spirit of a loyal companion. This shy girl may take a little time to open up, but once she feels safe, her true personality shines through. She is house-trained, walks beautifully on a loose leash right by your side, and is wonderfully non-reactive to people and dogs out on walks. Caroline enjoys slow, leisurely strolls, especially when she gets the chance to sniff along soft trails. At the shelter, she has shown herself to be polite with other dogs, doing best with gentle pals who match her easygoing energy.Caroline’s favorite things include butt scratches (the more the better!), cozy naps, and relaxing as a true couch potato. She’s not one to beg at the table, though she’s happy to try a little taste if you offer—and she’s discovered a fondness for pumpkin and peanut butter. She’s also crate-trained and settles down easily when it’s time to rest.Caroline spent a girls’ weekend in a foster home, and it was such a joy to watch her blossom. When she first arrived, her tail was tucked and she seemed a little anxious. But within just two hours, her tail was wagging and she was up on the couch, learning to trust and relax. She slept peacefully in her crate that first night, and by the next evening, she was snuggling under the covers with her foster.Caroline was also a star at the mega adoption event. She sat calmly, hopped onto the table to show off her model poses, and was non-reactive to other dogs—sometimes even giving a friendly tail wag when another pup came near. She loved being pampered for the weekend and showed off her sweet, vulnerable side once she realized she was safe and loved. With her mix of shyness, loyalty, and affection, Caroline is truly a special dog. She would be happiest in a quiet, patient home where she can take her time to adjust and then shower her people with love. If you’re searching for a kind, gentle soul who will stay right by your side, Caroline just might be the perfect match.Come meet Caroline at BARCS!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Caroline, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
