My story
My name is Missy. I am an 11 year old chihuahua who happens to be completely blind. When I arrived at my foster house on Saturday, August 23rd, I was really scared and timid. My foster mom had a blind dog previously, so she knew I needed time and reassurance. My foster dog sisters would like me to play but I usually would rather find a soft place to nap. My foster dog sisters all have metal tags on so when they are running somewhere, I sometimes try to follow since I can hear where they are. They all love to bark but I don’t bark at all. My foster mom said that can be a blessing. My foster mom has to help me outside because I have a difficult time navigating the steps. However, I love to explore all the smells in the backyard!!! I’m trying to navigate walking in a leash but I need a lot of practice. Caring for a senior, blind dog can be a lot of work but it is definitely a rewarding experience.
