My story

Meet J-Hope Basic Info • Name: J-Hope • Age: 2 years old • Sex: Neutered Male • Breed: Terrier Mix • Weight: 9.4 kg • Coat: Brown & White Rescue Story J-Hope was once at risk of euthanasia in Wanju shelter before he was rescued and given a second chance at life. Now he’s waiting for a forever family who will love him for the sweet boy he is. Personality & Socialization • At first, J-Hope can be a little cautious around strangers, but give him a treat and he warms up quickly. Once he trusts you, he leans in for pets, rubs against you affectionately, and may even roll over to show his belly. • Gentle by nature, he may feel uneasy around the sudden movements or loud voices of young children (under 13), but with time and patience he will adapt well. • He enjoys being held and carried and loves soft human touch. With Other Dogs • J-Hope politely greets unfamiliar dogs but prefers exploring and staying near people rather than playing. • He’s not interested in rough play and avoids conflict, even walking away if another dog challenges him. • Overall, he’s indifferent and calm around other dogs. With Cats • Shows curiosity and may try to chase cats during walks. Further testing can be arranged. Energy Level • Moderate energy. He enjoys walks and outdoor activities but settles down calmly afterwards. Walking Manners • Excellent leash manners — he doesn’t pull and happily follows his walker’s lead. • Walks are often stop-and-go because he loves sniffing and sometimes munching on grass. • He’s relaxed in quiet areas but gets nervous around heavy traffic or loud streets. • Waits patiently (often lying down) at stoplights or elevators. Home Behavior • House-trained for outdoor potty. Other than a couple of marking accidents in his first days at foster, he has been very clean indoors. • Stays calm when left alone. He may whine softly for the first few minutes, then settles into his favorite spot. • Rarely barks, even at the doorbell or visitors. • Rides quietly in a crate. Food & Training • Food-motivated and eats well, but not food-obsessed. He never guards food, begs, or rummages through trash. • Exceptionally smart — he quickly learns boundaries and rules. • Gentle and polite, with no signs of resource guarding. Why Adopt J-Hope? J-Hope is a dream dog for first-time adopters or anyone seeking a low-maintenance, affectionate companion. He’s gentle, well-mannered, intelligent, and eager to bond with his people. All he needs now is a forever family to give him the love and stability he deserves. Could that be you? Currently in Korea — adoptable to Canada & the U.S. Send in your application today through our website! Please also check out his post on our Facebook or Instagram. ##2495209##
