My story

Meet May, a 5-year-old cuddle bug with the sweetest soul and a heart full of love to give. She came to BARCS and was overwhelmed at first, but she has blossomed beautifully in her foster home. Now, she’s showing her gentle, affectionate nature and her irresistible snuggle skills.May is happiest when she’s close to her people. She’s the type of dog who will follow you from room to room just to curl up nearby or find the perfect little nook to rest in. At the end of the day, nothing makes her happier than stretching out beside you and soaking up as many belly rubs and ear scratches as you’re willing to give.Her energy level is just right—balanced and easy to live with. She loves her walks and will trot along nicely on leash, stopping often to sniff and take in the world around her. If she sees her leash or favorite pink flamingo chew toy, she gets the zoomies, showing off her playful, silly side before flopping over with her signature “pick me up and snuggle me” belly flop.May can be a bit shy in new situations but with reassurance from her person, she’s quick to relax and feel safe. She has met other dogs at BARCS and she prefers polite friends and feels most comfortable when she can stick close to her human. Any potential canine siblings should meet her first to ensure they’re a good match.This sweet girl is already showing great house manners. She’s been potty trained in her foster home and is happy to nap quietly between walks and cuddle sessions. She hasn’t tried crate training yet, but her calm and affectionate personality makes her a wonderful companion both in and out of the home.May’s ideal family is one that values love, connection, and companionship. She’ll thrive in a home where she can enjoy daily walks, soft places to snuggle, and plenty of affection.
