Dori

My story

Dori is a sweet and tenderhearted little dog who is about 1-2 years old and weighs 10 pounds. She does have a warm-up period when meeting new people. Once she knows you will be kind to her, she loves to get attention and affection. Coming from the environment she was in previously, it is apparent that she wasn’t handled very much so she just needs a few minutes to know that she is in a safe space. She would do best in a calm and patient home without small children where she can get acclimated to her new surroundings and learn to trust. She could use an x pen or crate for her to feel safe in. She will need a harness for the first few weeks until she learns to trust. She is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call her own! Dori is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Gettysburg, PA on August 23rd. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. Dori tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol.
