My story

***LOCAL ADOPTER (within 50 miles of Apex, NC) NEEDED! This dog still needs to be spayed at our partner vet in Apex!*** Hi, I’m Persimmon! I am a 1-year-old, 55-pound female Lab with a shiny, black coat and a big, happy heart. I’m on a mission to find my furever home and I’m ready to give you all the love, kisses, and puppy fun you could ever want. I’m fully house trained, heartworm negative, and I’ll be spayed soon. I’m super friendly, full of energy, and I just want someone to play with, cuddle with, and share adventures like hiking and swimming- I love to explore and splash around! I’ve met lots of kids while out on walks at the park, and I’m always gentle and excited to say hello. I get really happy when I see other dogs and love playing nicely with them. I haven’t met any cats yet, but squirrels and birds don’t distract me for long. I sleep in my crate at night and when my foster family is out. I might whine for a minute, but I settle quickly and feel right at home. Toys are my absolute favorite! I love fetch, tug of war, and puzzle toys that hide treats. I especially love anything I can get my little “teefers” on. I’m fast and agile, and my backyard zoomies are legendary—I can sprint, spin, and leap with so much joy that it’s impossible not to laugh. I love to play, give kisses, and be wherever my humans are. I have lots of energy, so a morning walk and some evening playtime keep me at my happiest. I’m still learning leash manners. I pull a little at first because everything is so exciting, but I’m sweetly correctable and get better as the walk goes on. I’m smart, playful, and love to learn if there are yummy treats involved. I’m looking for a family or person who wants a playful, loving companion to share outdoor adventures, backyard zoomies, and endless kisses.
