My story

This brindle sweetheart is exactly that – a sweetheart. This boy is mellow, submissive to his littermates, and just wants love. Brownie is happy to follow you around, and just asks for the occasional pat or two. He is a water dog through and through. HISTORY Brownie was found as a stray with 2 littermates in Richland, WA. Though we have searched for their rightful owners, we have not been unsuccessful in having anyone claim them as theirs. Since we don’t know their true DOB, we have designated 5/5/25 as their DOB. Brownie is located in Kennewick, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. He is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide he should join your family! SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING While we don’t know much about him, we do know that he is dog and people friendly. he has met a couple other dogs in our care, but does not have extensive experience that we know of. He is a puppy, and does not realize his size, so he may knock over small children in his excitement. He is excited to meet anyone who is willing to love on him. As mentioned before, this sweet boy LOVES water. If you take this boy home, you gotta get him a pool and watch him play in it– he is a joy! Brownie loves to be held, play with his littermates. He tried to engage in play with the small dog he met at his assessment, but he cared a lot more about receiving affection and checking in with the humans. Brownie is just a baby, he is young and eager to learn how to be a good family dog. He'd love you to take him to school so he can learn ALL the skills he needs to be his best self. This would be beneficial for you as his pet parent(s) as well so that you can learn to communicate effectively with him, and teach him to be confident. He is still working on potty training, and crate training. It's important to remember: Brownie is a puppy, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! This little boy is just getting started - he has sharp nails and needle teeth, and loves to pounce on shoes and grab hold and tug on anything that moves! As far as he’s concerned, anything and everything is for play. He still has everything to learn about being a civilized member of a mainly-human family. He will trip you up, piddle on your rug, and chew your stuff. Please don't apply to adopt Brownie unless you're sure you have the time, energy and desire to raise him right! HEALTH STATUS General info Brownie is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. He appears to be in good health. Once full grown, he will likely be somewhere in the 50-70 lbs range. HART does not support pediatric spay/neuter, so Brownie has not been sterilized. You will be required in terms of the adoption contract to have your pup sterilized by the time they are 6 months old. At your request, HART will refund you $100 upon receiving proof of sterilization. ADOPTION The adoption fee for Brownie is $425. For more pictures of Brownie, see his Facebook album at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1064120942535661&type=3 To apply to adopt Brownie, please complete our online adoption application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA/Dog, or email hearthfireART@gmail.com and request an adoption application form. HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters' privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Brownie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
