My story

Hi, I’m Russet—a one-and-a-half-year-old, 32-pound pup with a super handsome tri-colored coat (if I do say so myself!). I’m the kind of dog who thinks every new person I meet is my new best friend, and I’m always up for making more.I’m happiest when I’m playing fetch, going for walks, or just hanging out with my people. I’m also a total play group rock star—I love other dogs and would be thrilled to have a playful doggy buddy at home.But here’s my biggest joy: water! Lake, pool, or even just a water hose—if there’s splashing, I’m all in. Nothing makes me happier than diving right in and having the time of my life.I’d be the perfect match for an active family who’s looking for a fun-loving, social, water-obsessed best friend. Could that be you? Come meet me today!~~~~~The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is open every day from noon to 6pm (excluding limited holidays/events). You can meet our adoptable animals at any time during open hours.In addition to our main shelter at 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX 78626, you can also meet adoptable dogs at our satellite location, the Red Poppy Adoptique, located at 110 W L Walden Dr, Georgetown, TX 78626.Interested in fostering a dog in need? Join our foster team at www.wilcotx.gov/390/Fostering and click on “Foster Questionnaire.”Looking for a fun way to make a difference? Try our Doggy Day Out program! Take one of our pups on an adventure for a few hours—giving them a much-needed break from the shelter while you enjoy some quality time. The program runs at both locations daily starting at noon.We always welcome your dogs to come and meet our dogs, too! We’ll see you soon at either location!
