Now’s the perfect time to adopt! I’m one of the lucky pets featured in Clear the Shelters 2025! My adoption fee is reduced by $50 through September 15! Current Location: Leesburg, VA Meet Minnie: Minnie’s story began in Kosovo, where she and her littermates were left in a box outside a shelter gate. Thanks to the kindness of a shelter worker who raised her with love, Minnie grew up safe and cherished. She traveled to the United States on July 9 and has been charming everyone she meets ever since. At about 10 months old and 35 pounds, this retriever mix with soft golden fur and striking dark accents is the perfect blend of beauty and sweetness. Energy and Personality: Minnie is easygoing, joyful, and well-balanced. She enjoys playtime but doesn’t demand constant attention, making her a wonderful companion for a variety of homes. Her friendly and adaptable nature shines through whether she’s lounging calmly or playing with her canine pals. Training and Behavior: Minnie is house trained and crate trained, though she thrives on consistency and routine. She’s smart and quick to learn, especially when rewarded with praise for outdoor potty breaks. She respects boundaries like baby gates and is not destructive. Like many young pups, she may grab a sock if given the chance, but she’s easily redirected to her favorite chew toy. Social Life: Minnie loves the company of other dogs, especially larger ones, since those have been her best buddies. She adjusts well to new environments and seems comfortable in social settings, both canine and human. Special Traits: Her golden coat, framed with soft, darker accents around her face, gives her a gorgeous and unique look. Minnie is also delightfully playful, curious, and happy to entertain herself with a chew bone. She strikes a balance between puppy charm and calm maturity. Best Home Fit: Minnie would thrive in a home where she can continue her routine of love, structure, and play. She’ll do well with adopters who enjoy an affectionate, low-maintenance pup who’s always ready to be your sidekick. Veterinary Care: Examined by a veterinarian for a health certificate Up to date on vaccinations for her age Spayed Microchipped On heartworm preventative On flea and tick preventative Received worm and parasite treatments
