My story

Lyle is ready to be someone’s loyal shadow! This 4-year-old, 19-lb mini Australian Shepherd mix is as charming as they come, with one blue eye, one brown eye, and a heart full of love.Smart and active, Lyle wakes up each morning with a burst of energy—zoomies, spins for breakfast, and a readiness to explore. He’s also perfectly happy curling up for a nap, belly up, in whatever spot lets him keep tabs on his favorite humans. He loves to cuddle, be in the middle of whatever you’re doing, and follow his person from room to room.On walks, Lyle can be a bit of a free thinker—he has a destination in mind, and he’ll happily trot there… but if it’s not where he wants to go, he might stage a sit-in or even lie down in protest. With patience and consistent training, he’ll learn that walks are a team effort. A backyard would be a big plus for this guy so he can burn off energy on his own terms.Lyle forms strong bonds with his person, and he’s happiest when they’re nearby. If he’s not in the mood—or missing his favorite human—he can show his displeasure with a little “tantrum,” like having an accident in the house. This training is still a work in progress, so his new family should be ready to continue that work.He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and seems to like kids, making him a great candidate for a home with a built-in canine buddy. He’s crate-trained, sleeps through the night, and has an excellent cuddle game when it’s time to wind down.If you’re looking for a smart, spirited, and affectionate companion who will make you laugh as much as he’ll make you feel loved, Lyle might just be your perfect match.Recommended for: Families (especially with other dogs) who have a backyard and can appreciate his mix of energy, independence, and loyalty. All dogs will be fully vetted (up-to-date on core vaccinations), HW negative, dewormed, on prevention and spayed/neutered/microchipped.  No additional photos or background are available at this time.  To apply for Lyle, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2476278##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lyle, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
