My story

Lucy is a 1.5-year-old, 56-pound sweetheart with a shy and sensitive spirit. Life hasn’t always been easy for her, and she’s still learning that the world doesn’t have to be so scary. Because of her timid nature, Lucy needs a calm, understanding adopter—someone with prior dog experience who can offer her the steady guidance and gentle encouragement she needs to come out of her shell.Once she begins to trust, Lucy shows glimpses of her sweet and affectionate personality. She’s not the kind of dog who will leap into your lap right away, but with time, patience, and love, she has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. Lucy would thrive in a quiet home where she can build her confidence at her own pace. She’ll need a family who respects her boundaries, celebrates her small victories, and is committed to helping her feel safe and secure. If you`re a kind, patient person looking to help a gentle soul heal and grow, Lucy might just be the perfect match for you.If you are interested in meeting Lucy, please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12:30p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12:30p & 2p-6:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Adoption application can be filled out and approved during your meet-and-greet. If you have another dog in the home, plan to bring them for a meet before you complete the adoption!
