My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant. This big, beautiful, young boy would love to live somewhere where he can stretch his long legs and show off his outstanding temperament. Exceptionally friendly and so smart, he also will sit for a treat and take it gently from your hand. Very strong and sturdy, he is a good representative of his breed. He would do best in an area with some land where he can play and exercise his muscles, but most of all he needs to be loved. People are his everything. Still very much a puppy, even though he is already a big, fluffy dog, he likes playing with toys (big toys!) and when you appear, he will dance around you with complete joy. It must have been so hard for him to be abandoned by his family and left on his own in the woods. It would be the love that he missed even more than the lack of food. He is now with a foster, who calls him the 'best boy ever' and is the recipient of many kisses. Soulful eyes and the endearing habit of wrapping his front legs around you in a very human embrace, he easily earns that best boy title. He has been completely vetted, had all his shots, and is even neutered for you. If you like the big breeds, Shep is one of the very best. Special NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: He LOVES playing with ice cubes and seems to be totally house trained! After only 2 weeks here in his foster home he has become an excellent guard dog, always letting me know if someone is approaching the house. His size and deep bark are usually enough to send someone who doesn't know him leaving more quickly than they arrived. What they don't know is that he loves people and would probably bring them one of his toys. But he does have good protection instincts. I think he reads intentions and  I wouldn't want to be someone who was a threat to us or our home. If you are interested in Shep, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 30, 2025, 4:15 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shep, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
