My story

Meet Nubs! Nubs is a gentle sweetheart with a heart as warm as his old-man grumbles. He’s a mix of shy, lazy, and playful all rolled into one — perfectly happy snoozing the day away on the floor (he’s not fancy about beds), but when the mood strikes, you’ll find him bounding and flailing around the backyard with the goofiest hops. Nubs isn’t a big snuggler, but he loves to be near his people and melts for head and chin scratches — sometimes resting his chin on your lap just to ask for more. Food is his love language (especially carrots), and his idea of tug-of-war is lying down while playing… efficiency at its finest. When meeting new people, Nubs can be timid at first, especially if someone approaches him too directly, but a crouch and a treat quickly win him over. He’s polite with dogs, calm on leash, and generally unfazed by the hustle of a condo or quiet neighborhood life. He’s met kids around 7–9 years old and was gentle and happy to accept their pets, so he’d likely do well with respectful children. Nubs is crate trained, house trained, and a dream to leave home alone — he’ll simply snooze until you return. He’s not vocal indoors and doesn’t react to most noises, though loud trucks and motorcycles can make him wary. While he has shown mild food guarding toward another dog in the past, he has no issues with people handling his food, and this behaviour may fade once he’s gained more weight and feels fully secure. The ideal home for Nubs would be one that matches his calm nature, gives him time to build confidence, and appreciates his quiet affection. Whether as an only dog or with a furry friend, Nubs will make a loyal, loving companion. Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Nubs?
