Name:  Alfie      Best Guess for Breed:  German wirehaired pointer mix Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of August 2025         SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 80 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here.    Alfie is Looking For:  His forever home! Through no fault of his own he landed in the shelter. He's closed that chapter and is eagerly looking ahead to the next one. The one where he once again has his own humans for all those adventures - Poodles are super smart and need both mental and physical enrichment. And yes, daily coat maintenance in addition to regular professional grooming - those poodle coats must be maintained!Alfie is a great age - out of the puppy yips, full of that young adult energy - ready to go with you! Most of all, though, he wants to know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved. In exchange, you get a smart, loyal, loving companion. What do you say? Is he the one for you? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has spent time in foster care Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
