My story

Una joined our rescue a couple of weeks ago, and we’ve been getting to know her and what kind of home she’ll do best in. She is a sweet 4 year old Miniature Schnauzer mix weighing 22.8 lbs. Una is potty trained, crate trained, and well-behaved indoors. She does well with calm or submissive dogs and cats, and she is most comfortable in a quiet, predictable home. She bonds closely with her person and prefers not to be left alone, so she’s best suited for someone who works from home and has no children under 12. Una is fearful of men and wary of strangers, so she will need an adopter who can give her time and patience. She is also vocal and protective, especially with her person and around food. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2470817##
