My story

Melody and her 4 newborns were brought into the FHS system on 4/10/25, and was estimated to be 10 months old by the vet. Unfortunately, three of Melody's kittens passed away, leaving only Ari (see separate posting).  Melody is a sweet girl who loves attention and getting lots of pets! She is cautious and a bit skittish at first but given a little time and patience her true playful, attention-seeking, lap-cat personality blossoms. Because of this, she would do best with a furever family with older/considerate children and a calmer home environment.  As Melody and Ari are bonded they need to be adopted together (twice the fun!). Melody is not a fan of dogs or other cats.  Approx DOB 6/22/2024Interested in one of our cats/dogs? First step it to fill out the required adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. All our cats/dogs will be spayed/neutered, heart worm tested (dogs), FeLV/FIV tested (cats), microchipped, and current on vaccinations. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We review all applications received to ensure that the animal and the applicant are a good match based on our personal experiences with the animal. These animals live in foster homes with us, so we are familiar with their habits and behaviors. Home visits may be required prior to adoption approval. Adoption counselors are available onsite at PetSmart most Saturdays & Sundays, 12-4 p.m. to conduct meet and greets and onsite adoptions.
