My story

#A5712465 Meet Dodger ,  a 5-year-old American Staffordshire/Bulldog mix sweetheart, and the most perfect roly-poly hunk of love you’ll ever meet! With his squishy cow-print coat and smooshable rolls from his jowly cheeks to his tail, he’s basically a marshmallow in dog form. Dodger is calm, mellow, and endlessly affectionate - despite his hefty size, he’s convinced he’s a lap dog and lives for snuggles and couch time. Nothing fazes this chill guy: he’s great with other animals (yep, even cats!), people, and new environments. He may be deaf from past neglect (untreated ear infections), but it doesn’t slow him down one bit - he’s still ready to live his best life by your side. Already potty trained and a quick learner, Dodger just needs a confident adopter to help fine-tune his leash skills (he is a chonk, after all!) and he’ll be golden. Come take home this perfectly squishable beefcake today!     -5 year old black and white American Staffordshire/Bulldog mix -112 pound neutered male -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 7/11/25 as a stray  -the most perfect roly poly hunk of loving! -a handsomely squishy cow printed cutie patootie, with exquisitely smooshable rolls and folds, from his jowly cheeks to the base of his tail -a delightful marshmallow in canine form -incredibly affectionate - despite his massive build, he thinks he's a lap dog! more than content to cuddle close and be a couch potato -calm and mellow, with a low energy level - nothing phases him, from other animals (including cats!) to people and even things -unfortunately, may be deaf due to neglect (untreated ear infections), but this doesn't slow him down or hold him back at all -Dodger is ready and able to live his best life with you!  -would benefit from a slightly more experienced or confident family that could work on leash skills a bit more - pulls on leash some, which can be a bit challenging given his chonky size -however, he is a quick learner with the help of some yummy treats -already potty trained and knows basic commands like sit!     DODGER’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/KcHFXltWEBc   For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed above. Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue.August 12, 2025, 5:29 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt DODGER, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
